Going Full Circle

"I will have to work the fields * cough *."

AUGUST IS HOT

Theme: Going Full Circle

Some facts should remain private,
like John Proctor being a bad boy.
No shame, no regret, until that is...
Read the play. I can't get over it.
I have to get my fangirly side out in the Woods of Salem.
Please don't judge, I feel a bit wicked.

More on this, or not, as I bewitch Mr. Farmer.

Under construction

I have to catch that rabbit on my doorstep, before the clock strikes midnight. Am I talking in tongues? Oh yes, no regrets. I blame John Proctor for luring me into his arms. And Richard for having me come back to London to finally see him act live.
I remember a certain time and place when... but I won't mention names. Goody gone wicked Violet was going full circle.

I feel I have to post more on The Crucible.

August Is Hot: Proud Moments

"Do you want me to pitch your script for you?"

AUGUST IS HOT

Theme: It's Not About Me
Post: Proud Moments

I should not be talking about this, but I have proud moments whenever I discover 'the actor' stepped up his game. Those moments of insight occur after I connect the dots and can see the whole picture.

Script changes

Proud moment: whenever Mr. A asks for a script change. Not uncommon among actors, but his interviews show that whenever he found it was necessary to make a shout-out in an attempt to steer the character's walk of life, then boy it was needed. Poor man has to take into consideration that any afterburn of his acting in reviews is hard to hose. :) Prime examples: 1) how Marian's death deed was execuded by Guy of Gisborne in Robin Hood tv series - as in: preferably not, but if it had to be, then with remorse; 2) how Lucas North/John Bateman's relation to his former girlfriend Maya softened - from a lustful connexion on the kitchen table as the director intended (as I understood from a Layla Rouass interview), to a lovable rekindling. More recently, concerning the many late night script changes for the Battle of the Five Armies scenes (as mentioned by the man himself), I have no doubt Mr. A has put his boots in as much as possible for his character Thorin Oakenshield. I hear you: don't rule out The Oaken Shield addition and the Dwarf Calendar! Erm, the Calendar is another story.

Now that we are talking script, what is the story on the latest developments of the Richard III script Richard Armitage was pitching in Hollywood - and I assume, also in the UK?

RA looks and vibes Richard III  - Spooks ep. 8.2

Pitching Richard III

Proud moment: when I found out he was pitching the script of Philippa Langley in Hollywood, after his many times expressed ambition to play Richard III one day. At the moment it is not certain that he is still involved in the project, yet he has voiced he really wants it to come to fruition.

Proud moment: when I found out that her King Richard III script is titled 'Blood Royal'. By now it may be changed into 'Royal Blood' (verification needed) on IMDb Pro, as there was already one older film listed by that title.

Real proud moment: when I read that she herself writes "it is been optioned and in development" in a testimonial (verification needed) posted on the site of Philip Shelley, script consultant. The official mention that she "is now working to secure a development deal for her film script that tells the real story of King Richard III" can be found on the Richard III Society blog. Read more on option and an article called Ten Things To Think About optioning.

Super proud moment: when I connect dots by assuming Todd Garner could be one of the people who gave RA some advice on pitching the Richard III script. Yesterday, I was flicking through my writing magazines to discover I was the proud owner of one Script Magazine and it contains an article written by Todd Garner, the producer of the upcoming Black Sky film in which RA stars.

Proud moment: when passing on these finds to verify, I got an invitation to write a post for the

August Is Hot: It's Not About Me

 "What would I say if you walked into my arms?
It's not about me. It's blank."

AUGUST IS HOT

Theme: It's not about me
Post: It's blank

Welcome, dear readers, to yet another yearly secret series of posts, called August Is Hot.
It's all for your pleasant entertainment.
No, it's not about me.
I leave that blank.

Not long ago, 'our man in Middle Earth', spokesperson for all Dwarves, said in an interview with words to this effect: "I hope people to like me for my characters than for me." This quote created a Gollum-type riddle in my head. How can one separate the characters created by the actor, from the actor? I can't decide what I like more and say: "It's blank."

On second thought, it may not about 'me' the actor, but about 'me' the person. If so, I read a warning in his quote: "Don't gush 'me' too much, I might disappoint."

In the first few years of this blog I was so sensitive of my writing qualities that I let some people from the RL (my real life) read this blog. Wrong! One couldn't read English, another said "Holy moly!" and one new friend who I confided her my - I thought salonfähige - crush told me that she has seen RA as actor in N&S and Robin Hood, yet referred to my blog (or the RA fanworld in general, I was too embarrassed to ask) that "this good actor doesn't need to be associated with sexy".

I could have defended my blog as my (hypocritical?) attempt to twist the joyous gushings and jealous worries I had walked into online, but I left it blank.

August Is Hot: Keeper Of The Sword

"I´m Thorin Oakenshield, keeper of the sword Orcrist"

AUGUST IS HOT
Theme: Should We Know You?

Read the official version of the third Hobbit film as requested by RA fans here!
It´s called The Hobbit: Keeper Of The Sword.
The producers will talk you through the film.
Please don't read if you're a die-hard Hobbit fan.

First we'll see the intro...

Officially we'll have to introduce that story mentioned in the top 100 best read children's books to you. So.. Thorin Oakenshield is a grumpy warrior leader of Dwarves. He was asked by wizard Gandalf to escort a certain hungry Hobbit to the end of the book, but he fails by prematurely dying. His life lacks a bit of womanly dwarfhood and that´s kind of refreshing. No sensual excercises. Instead healthy, safe, childfriendly fantasy storytelling to which we all can relate to, if have you been in dark woods before and catched some spiders.. or worse if they catch you...! But you know all that, if you watched The Hobbit 1 and 2 by then. So number 3 is finally starting, like now!

The main story...

The story focuses on why Thorin Oakenshield is so grumpy. Is it the story of a warrior, following his bloodline back to ancestors who had their battles to fight? We'll see some of that.. Amidst there is this hint of an emerging love story with this Dwarf woman, which fails because.. she has a beard! Tragic, tragic, dear fans, but we swiftly move on to another love interest, or is it? Thorin's love story gets larded with awkward misunderstandings, silent conversations, revealing blushings.... "In The Hobbit?!", you asked us online. We feared no-one except geeks would watch this movie.

On his trips to strange lands Thorin Oakenshield encountered a creature, so sublime, no words were needed. We'll see the ray of golden sunshine surrounding her smiling face with her hair moving in slow motion and she doesn´t have to say anything, because we all know she is special. She is called The Keeper of the Kiss. Well, in the script anyway.

It happened on a path through dense woodworks. Thorin Oakenshield was very tired and sad. He was contemplating about all the things that happened to him. Here, we'll insert some flashbacks from The Hobbit movies 1 and 2. We still have to decide which ones. Then, suddenly, he didn't notice, there's someone coming towards him. When he looks up, the innocent looking creature is cheerful and eyes at him. He invites her with a head tilt. We'll see a close up of her feet. First, her left foot stepping forward, then her right foot, then we see his left foot stepping in. She moves her face from the ground up and sees that he has to tilt his head back a bit, because she is fairly tall and coming way too close. He doesn't give in. Neither does she (!). He moves his face into her, ready for a kiss. She finds herself looking at his upper lip next to his nose and doesn't know if the intention is to kiss him on the cheek or on the upper lip, which is way to informal. We'll see a close-up of their faces. Panning out with a blurring background, creating the feel of being in the centre of the universe. We have to ask for extra budget how to film that in 3D with a camera whisking around them. Their silence fades all notions of time. She looks up, teasingly into his eyes, then resumes to her original position. She repeats this a couple of times. He finds himself caught looking away, initially whispering "Shit!". You´ll hear that word in the outtakes on the DVD extra´s. We will have to find a replacement for that word.. We hope that you as viewer will sense that if it really was a first kiss to a potential boyfriend, their noses had to move a little bit closer. She gasps. He gasps too, but it sounds like he is copying her more than it´s for real. She then starts humming. She full well knows he patiently waits to be kissed, but his attempt looks like a dutyful kissing offer, so it could use a bit of sparkle... We know you'll still be with us on this scene, so we've decided to prolong this moment and let her step back a bit while dropping her eyelashes on him. We'll see it from his view. Her face, so effortlessly in thoughts.. What goes on behind her eyes, we can only guess... She, still with her eyes closed, exhales, because, let's face it, it's quite the greeting! She then waits... He can only step aside, thinking what to do next, not to be that entangled in emotions. He exhales too, which she can't see but hear too well... What a beautiful kissing offer! She opens her eyes and catches her breath. She pretends that she is very surprised, even shocked by his reaction. She ends it with a couple of flirty winks. He then lifts his chin, smiles and blushes. He gives her a good look, takes some steps, then looks over his shoulder to give her another good look. Then, the Dwarfleader who fought Orcs, walks away!! So, that is one exclusive scene we can give you!

The ending..

We'll see Thorin sitting with Bilbo at the fire place in one of the lodges, telling him this wonderful tale and smiling mysteriously. Bilbo says he doesn´t believe Thorin, because he is never without his group of Dwarves! Besides, Bilbo has more important tales to tell, and is getting hungry! Thorin gets angry and tosses his sword on the floor. We'll see that the rest of the film is stuffed with one exciting Bilbo tale, which will be revealed in the upcoming Hobbit Teaser Trailers!!!

The explanation of the title..

We know that Thorin Oakenshield is keeper of the sword Orcrist, so why did he left his sword at the fire place? Oops, spoilers! Not only did he and Bilbo had to chase through Middle Earth, there was Gollum again who exchanged it for one of the Elven's crossbows. Finally, Thorin finds his sword, promising Gandalf to bring Orcrist home in one piece.

Thorin Oakenshield: "I cannot guarantee his safety."
Gandalf: "Understood."
Thorin Oakenshield: "Nor will I be responsible for it´s fate."

Disclaimer:
Uh, okay, I never intented a love story for The Hobbit. That would make it totally ridiculous.
Expect a new Hobbit trailer in September.

August Is Hot: Should We Know You?

"Yeah, I play Thorin Oakenshield in The Hobbit 1, 2 and 3. Want an autograph?"

AUGUST IS HOT
Theme: Should We Know You?

Is it really important what I say about Richard Armitage?
Well, I have this August Is Hot themed series running each year and so far, I was never silenced by my impressions of his entertaining acting, the dynamic man himself, or even by his massive beard.
OK, I was, am, and suppose will be, but not in this way.

I'm so stuck in a barrel about The Hobbit presentation at Comic Con, 14th July 2012.
First, coming from me, it's a big compliment, it's the "Now I really get it, you're in The Hobbit!"
So why do I feel as follower and blogger to be expected to become a vessel for The Hobbit aka Peter Jackson to be endorsing The Hobbit? Willing to negotiate, call my agent...
Furthermore, the friendly but controlled introduction of Mr. A to the world, felt like a postponement of the eventual brutal unleashing to the masses and papparazzi, by the time of the premiere tour.
What do I have to contribute to the world with these hesitant sentiments?

"You're the burglar blogger. Go on and... burgle blog something!"

In that case, I'll put on my 3D glasses!

BTW, I'm Violet, hilarious blogbabe, so rubbing shoulders with famous RA bloggers.
Am so boiling the ocean in a 'so-me/so-you'-way, according to my agent B. Arbie.
She's is such a doll!

Guess you sensed the humbug alert?
Maybe I should oil the PR-machine!

August Is Hot: Every Word

August is hot!
Theme:
BRINGING THE GRRRRR...

That is.. if I can find the right words. Hacking the usual, the original thoughts curl in my brain,
waiting to find the right time and place to be expressed.
I have ten seconds, before my brain turns to jelly.
Too late. It already has....

When RA speaks words while acting or during interviews, at least you know what he´s about. But because he is merely playing roles with the good in bad and the bad in good, there's the drooling tendency amongst followers to trust the body language more.

I wish I could use my body language here... :)

** Click on the links to find out more about my random thoughts **

I maybe more of an observer than of a subjective fan follower. Reading comments with opinions about RA-related behaviour, I now have a fair amount of insight of how anyone's behaviour is perceived. I sometimes have to take a step back in order to keep my thoughts fresh.

I'm particularly watching a lot of RA's performances in Spooks. Many of his scenes are thought provoking. They force me to imagine situations wherin one rethinks their moral and go with feeling instead. Should one trust their instincts when someone comes too close within their private space?

Since my birthday this month, an intense fond memory came back in full force, which had me connected coincidental links to the Lucas - Maya story. It happened last year and it´s a memory of someone who had put me off on guard by a very sweet gesture. Considering the circumstances, that was gentle entertaining. So rethinking my moral, I figured this person deserved something funny and sweet, in my own way. Bringing the GRRRRR softly....

What can I say? My readers write me: "Your blog is one of the funniest" and "Your blog makes more sense than the whole (Spooks) show". I never thought I would get these kind of responses! My boldness to post these posts, instead of rethinking my moral, puzzles me to this day. I can only hope that that certain someone who is used in too many illustrations on this blog, doesn't have hard feelings.
By the way, is this a scandalous RA blog ? I don´t even call it a RA blog. Denying your ordeal, I must be a very BAD girl!

Need to update my website RATheFellowshipOfTheBeard or make new one soon. Birthday present...
Mr. A has so trustworthy kept the beard and has made pictures especially for this purpose! :)

** Hope you get this post was a bit jelly **

This is the last post of

August Is Hot: Navel Fluff

"First I have to do something"

August Is Hot!
Theme:
BRINGING THE GRRRRR...

NOOOOOOOO!!
Now you will never take me seriously again.
I will have to make my deepest, sincerest apologies for these kind of pictures on my blog.
Since I became 40, my brain has drained all serious blogpost ideas.

It has hit me in the face, with a wet towel. Not a nicked hotel towel, by the way.
It was this one. Not this one.

While I was sitting in the theatre, watching that English play, it dawned on me that I was witnessing The English System Of Acting And Performing. Being Dutch I could picture this being encapsuled within the whole British entertainment industry. So I felt soooooo sorry for this guy (I mean, come on, we´re talking RA here), slaving away between small actors (in height), bowing for demanding directors and keeping fit because the script requires it for national health reasons.

For health reasons: notice details like navel fluff?

I do feel BAD............... for posting these embodiments intentionally, because.. that´s what I learned.. these shirtless moments were meant to be the ´mild shockeffect moments´ in between scenes of a story. Nowadays it seems predominant to get ratings by viewers to bring readers to blogs.

Why to appreciate these sightings of RA´s acting? These are visual reminders of the many hours of preparation, in order to portray a character. There is more to it than that. I did say something intelligent about beardy actors using their body naturally. My mind suggests to talk about acting later...
Notice that I work with my issue of ´acceptance´ here, bringing the GRRRRR....

Talking about acceptance, I am soooo looking forward to The Hobbit (what´s it: reason 4 now?). That reminds me I´m soooo relieved that there are no sexy dwarves in The Hobbit!!
Brings back memories of the film ´Master And Commander´: hardly any women on board, so no kissing. Watch it on a very rainy day!
I hope Peter Jackson can control all those actors who beg for shirtless scenes, because for authenticity reasons of The Hobbit, we should only be interested in Gollum´s naked chest!

*reads The Hobbit*

NOOOOOOO!!
THE DWARVES WILL DO A BATHING IN THE RIVER SCENE !!

August Is Hot: So Not Me

August Is Hot!

BRINGING THE GRRRRR.....

If you want to read a litte secret, I just turned 40. That´s so not me! :)

I requested this picture as Picture Of The Day, at RANet. Too old to be ashamed.
Looking relaxed, radiant, a start of a surprised... smile?
Not a face I´ve seen before very much.. so keep practising Mr. A! :)

The Beard

RA with The Beard radiates: "It´s so not me!". Love that attitude! Harmless that is. The Beard raised a few hairs among some sections of the RA blog population. It seems The Beard will stay put for 18 months (I mean 8 months). Time enough for RA to get into touch with wielding swords, playing harps and wearing braids - huh? - for the two-part The Hobbit (working title used to be: The Hurdle).

Bringing the GRRRR... in Hobbit rehearsals

You in affective voice, imitating Gandalf: "The braids you say?"

It was my silent wish to see RA with braids in beard and hair, uttered here in my top 3 post:
The Hobbit: Exciting And Dynamic Casting

You as Gandalf: "Why?"

Because I would never thought RA would do it, if requested to do so!

You as Gandalf: "So not me!"

Tease

Why am I into following the deliciously captured nonsense around one man, who does extensive studies to act as somebody else? It´s so not me to talk about the teases I had to endure in my days.

RA said: "I believe in the kind of acting where you make somebody else act. (..) I think I can make another actor act better, and hopefully someone else can make me produce something that I´ve never produced before."

Read: the ´no-actor-is-an-island-approach´ remarks in The Scotsman interview.

Two examples to stress the new.. think away the kissing...try again.. no kissing in The Hobbit, mind.

Curiously giving.. in Spooks ep. 9.3

Receptively receiving.. in Spooks ep. 9.4

Getting his inspiration from scratch, good acting, a novel, a context given by the writer.
His serious approach to sustain a solid performance is endearing.
That´s why whoever succesfully teases him to shift mood, position, rythm, energy got my praise!
Why am I every time surprised when he decides to shift the scene even more?

Based on gut feeling, probably lured, I always thought his acting technique was something like this:

"You promised to give me some clues on acting."
"I work this scene and you react."

Teased by life´s happy little accidents, it´s so not me to say:

August Is Hot: Bringing The GRRRRR..

August Is Hot: theme: BRINGING THE GRRRRR..!

This month and this year is very important for you, dear readers, enjoyers of RA´s works of art.
There is an announcement to be made!
AHEM!!
In August I am hitting the respectable age of 40 just as bad as Mr. A.! Cheers!
As I´m not the main driver in this story,
and like to keep my private troubles private,
this is a fact I can´t deny.
Do I want it to slip in the conversation?
Does it really matter?
You´ll find out...
..as you are on a quest to find
LEO LUSCIOUSNESS,
RULER OF THE ZODIAC ATTITUDE!
(just as previous year: loads of reflective nonsense)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
My theme is about Bringing The GRRR.., because everyone has to bring some daring into their lives.
It´s a long story why I finally went into improv acting.
I kinda knew I was funny and could write ridiculous nonsense,
but that´s not something you´ll risk your mortgage on.
So I had a string of office jobs to secure the paychecks and right now I´m back to square one,
looking for another job once again and improv acting is still a hobby.
If you´re shy like me, I strongly recommend it, even for writing purposes.
I now regularly visit the rehearsals for a play about Alzheimer´s disease.
I was asked to do lights and sound at a couple of occasions (!)
Acting and learning from stage directions is very useful.
Foremost, I learned what makes a scene work.
You learn about what makes people tick and face your own perks.
The thing is, this second year I was notified in my improv acting group
that I was struggling with ´acceptance´ in taking ´gifts´.
I also came up with weird hilarious suggestions,
which was hard for my team members to use in the improv scene.
At some point I feared I was not welcome anymore.
We recently had a good coach who explained how to use my input to the team´s best effort
and how to use acceptance more fully.
Now my suggestions are fully accepted, with thanks to an acclaimed brilliant hilarious scene,
knowing I had your receptive support on this daringly funny blog!
In January I mentioned I have a wonderful writing project in the drawer and in the back of my mind.
I was thinking about the story, whether it was not full of cliches and treaded paths.
The fear of rejection...
So I observed tv-series, plays and films. Have to finish the thing and see where it takes me!
Coming August Is Hot posts I will put the focus back on RA.
August Is Hot: Tasting Words In The Mouth
A taste for baddies leads to a tasty way of telling
Torture Method: abusing the mike
To conclude my August Is Hot Series, theme
´Up Close Torture Feast´,
I thought let´s do a taster about RA´s latest vocal exercise.
As I am visually oriented, listening to his audiowork for longer than five minutes is TORTURE. I giggle and try to copy the accents or if I can abstain myself from dozing off, my mind wanders. The thought of RA patiently reading away for many hours in a frisky, climate controlled narrow booth is too much for me to muster my concentration skills. Since I´ve seen the spoof on acting in ´People Like Us´, I have VISUAL.
"Abusing the mike", so he said to explain why. I don´t know where I read or heard that.
Recently he gave another reason. On reading the audiobook of Georgette Heyer´s The Convenient Marriage he said (paraphrased) to like to read "words that mean the same but feel differently in the mouth". Could have sworn he mentioned in some interview the phrase "tasting the words in my mouth" or my mind turned it into that.
Didn´t think for a minute it could have something to do with really associating a taste with a word, a condition called lexical-gustatory synesthesia. It is triggered by the phonemes in the word, rather than graphemes or it could be that it´s from semantic influences.
I had to re-listen and heard: "(on acting and reading) "I almost create a soundtrack to anything I am doing". Now that sounds very much like synesthesia. It´s also proof that my mind really wandered off.
To listen to his interview and a reading extract of his latest audiobook, go to RichardArmitageNet´s site of Georgette Heyer´s The Convenient Marriage. I can listen to that extract with an ease, unbelievable.
I read that physical workout helps to make a voice sounds stronger. After all the military workout for Strike Back combined with the earlier started running and gymvisits for Spooks (dare I say Cold Feet?), not to forget the dancing in the living room in leisure time and vocalizing with vocal workout, his voice and his pronunciation does sound improved...
(sudden interruption by you)
You: "Why do you put pictures of Moving On here which are -by the way- totally irrelevant?"
Because, dear reader, thanks for bearing with my ´Leo is ruler of the zodiac´-attitude, I have a condition...
You: "Leo is ruler of the zodiac? You mean ruler of the Fifth House of zodiac, the House of Pleasure!"
Like I said, I have a condition which puts images to words or links words to other words. Therefore, occasionally funny accidents happen on my blog. Now, wonder what my condition is called: associating words with pictures or other words?
You: "A-SOCIATING".
Discovered Hitchcock-like symbolism in this shot (collaged by moi):
a taste of things to come.
"Are you leaving this table? I have a taste for torture!"
Response:
Yeah, duh! August Is Hot is over!
August Is Hot: Bedtime Stories
Wow, I have stereo! I must be dreaming!
Torture Method: bedtime stories to dream of
This is my fourth posting in the series ´August Is Hot´, theme
´Up Close Torture Feast´.
A tongue-in-cheek Leo-lushious series of posts for birthday hotties like me and hopefully bearable delectable for every other reader of this blog.
Hi, I´m Richard and I will tell you a story. The story is called ´Guy of Gisborne´.
Once upon a time there was a disposessed Lord who could only think of a certain Lady, oh, and power and possession. The Lady never heard the true readings of his mind. And when he finally told her, she did not like it. She stood him up at the altar and told him she would never marry him. Even worse, later she told him she would marry someone else. He felt betrayed real bad, so he distroyed her.
The Lord lived unhappily ever after.
Hang on, it´s not in the book and we don´t like it, it´s sad!
But he looks like this. Hey, then it´s okay!
Please, can´t you tell another one? About the little mole?
Don´t know that one,
will happily tell you these:
~~~~~~~~~
Dreamlord
~~~~~~~~~~
Dreams tend to code, blur and twist the demanding real life.
Recalling dreams the next day is a stretch...
especially if they´re RA dreams...
you don´t want to decode...
It´s bad you´re tossing and turning in your sleep. What a nightmare!
If you ignore your bad conscience, you have sweet dreams....
Tongue-in-Cheek Assignment:
Tell a cute story with many accents to someone you care for.
August Is Hot: Intensive Gifts
What, no picture? OK, if you must...
OMG, do I have to? I thought it was private
Torture Method: intensive acting
This is my third posting in the series ´August Is Hot´, theme
´Up Close Torture Feast´.
A tongue-in-cheek Leo-lushious series of posts for birthday hotties like me and hopefully bearable delectable for every other reader of this blog.
How to get a quick notice of someone´s acting nowadays? The formal way is done by trailers or teasers. The informal way is by fanvids. At the core, fanvids are made to show the appreciation of the vidder for the subject, the story, the actor, the acting...or that´s what I thought.
This fanvid I promised you earlier, is quite suggestive. It has to do with the music. While the selection of scenes or shots is not at all ´bare it all´, the vid is simmering hot. What to think of it´s tagline: "It´s a quickie" ?! It doesn´t say: "It´s a gift". Hope someone takes it to heart. Better Put Some Pressure On It, made by JulietD001, who made a number of great Spooks vids. I can only watch this one by peeking through my fingers! I feel so not alone now with the taglines in my post Man TV Is A Beast. See the intensive acting in the Spooks scene in ep. 8.4 at 3:00, or at 1:00.
I keep rewatching the Spooks episodes 8.4 and 8.8, because of the theatrical quality of the Lucas/Sarah scenes. By that I mean I like to rewatch the dance-like dynamics in two long scenes: the flat-scene in ep. 8.4 part 1 starts at 7.40 and part 2 at 0:00 - 7.08 and the hospital-scene in ep. 8.8 which starts at 1:00 - 7:20.
For the purpose of this post I have to point out that there´s the boilersuit-scene in ep. 8.4, see from the start. But you better go see the episodes in full, for there are many good scenes.
To cool off, here´s the vid This Night with some of RA´s characters.
Tongue-in-Cheek Assignment:
Give someone what they want for their birthday,
within reasonable boundary,
If you don´t know what to give,
then tune in to their frequency.
Or in devious, naughty rhyme:
The question is what gifts to give,
if someone sets a list.
To tame a wisher´s birthday frizz,
answer with a hiss.
If you don´t know what to give,
then listen, it´s hit or miss.
August Is Hot: A Tux In Flux
Birthday attire
Torture Method: Contemporary Black Tie
This is my second posting in the series ´August Is Hot´, theme
´Up Close Torture Feast´. A tongue-in-cheek Leo-lushious series of posts for birthday hotties like me and hopefully bearable delectable for every other reader of this blog.
A Tux In Flux
~~~~~~~~~~

If RA ever intends to speech at my birthday in a tux, I shall request him to do the autograph signing first.
"To create impact without intrusion in a supporting role,
requires great skill."

How true, in the true meaning of this quote!

TV Bafta´s 2010

Other Tux-In-Flux moments of RA are Bafta´s 2009 and the Autograph signing at Bafta´s 2010. The RichardArmitageNet website has great reads with the 2010 Bafta report and the 2009 Bafta report. There was also a 2007 Bafta Moment, shown in 2 clips on RA Online

It was through reading about all the red carpet mayhem how I became aware that the UK finds its television (and film) industry hugely important, with over 10,000 paid actors and actresses. This industry is approximately 20 times bigger than the one in Holland. Internationally, ´we´ win Oscars with films now and then, and are big with sellling television formats, like the debatable ´Big Brother´, but with tv-drama? Don´t worry, we have our own awards.

In numerous British interviews, the UK industry is compared with the American one in a demeaning tone. The Dutch also like to compare themselves with the Americans, but with things like story telling and the quality of acting and production, we admire the British. And costumes!

To go back to RA´s well written ´presenting-an-award´ speech, I was reminded of it´s short-range. Has it to do with seniority? Meaning that every extra year you´re allowed to speech at the Bafta´s, you´re granted an extra sentence? The moment of RA intuxicating the stage was gone too soon. Two sentences in 2011!?

To entice you more, I thought of other intuxicating moments that came to mind.

Colin Firth´s ´getting-an-award´speech at the Film Bafta´s 2010 is an example of a well written and adorably just right lengh speech, because he truly deserved his award.

Dude, you don´t wanna go down there with Conan O´Brien. :)

Tongue-In-Cheek Assignment:

Get your man in a tux.
Your excuse: it´s to make you, the female companion, look good.
Read the Tux Guide for inspiration.
